Borealis and Neste have
announced a strategic collaboration on the production of renewable polypropylene (PP) to accelerate the circularity of plastics and the bioeconomy
.
The collaboration will enable Borealis to start producing polypropylene
at its plants in Kallo and Beringen, Belgium, using 100% renewable propane produced using Neste's proprietary NEXBT technology as feedstock by the end of 2019.

Lucrèce Foufopoulos, Executive Vice President, Polyolefin Innovation and Technology and Circular Economy Solutions, Borealis, said, "The use of renewable feedstocks, which are mainly generated by waste and residue streams, makes a significant contribution
to reducing our dependence on fossil fuel-based feedstocks.
By partnering with Neste, we can offer our customers and partners a new portfolio of renewable PP solutions that make products more environmentally friendly
