LANXESS has recently launched a new generation of "Lewatit?MDS series ion exchange resins", which can significantly improve the efficiency
of membrane chlor-alkali electrolytic brine treatment.
With a particle size of only 390 μm, this resin has improved kinetic properties, a higher degree of regeneration, and a significantly higher
total exchange capacity than previous products.
These properties result in the new resin with optimal mechanical and osmotic stability
.
The resin effectively separates barium and strontium ions from brine and binds to light alkaline earth elements (i.
e.
, calcium and magnesium) to significantly reduce the lower concentration limit of alkaline earth ions and better protect the membrane product
.
In addition, the resin's low regeneration requirements and low wastewater discharge can increase the brine preparation and production capacity, extend the working cycle, and bring a series of economic advantages to the ion membrane caustic soda plant, especially the significant reduction of energy costs
.
