Tetraxylene for efficient utilization
A few days ago, the 508 research group of Shanxi Institute of Coal Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences developed a catalyst and process for the catalytic conversion of tetraxylene to prepare high-octane gasoline fractions, with a conversion rate of 100%.
Now the catalyst has been in stable operation for more than 2,000 hours
.
This technology provides the best of both worlds
solution to solve the problem of tetraxylene solid products in the methanol-to-gasoline (MTG) process and the downstream product development of surplus benzene in the petroleum industry.
The process of methanol synthesis of gasoline will produce more homotetraxylene, the melting point of all tetraxylene is as high as 79.
24 °C, and it is solid at room temperature, resulting in the crystallization of MTG gasoline products, affecting the quality of gasoline, reducing the effective gasoline fraction yield, and increasing
production costs.
For the tetraxylene produced in the MTG process, Group 508 of Shanxi Coal Chemical Institute developed a catalytic conversion catalyst and process
for tetraxylene.
The process uses homotetraxylene and benzene, which cannot be used as gasoline fractions, as raw materials, and converts them into toluene, xylene, xylene, xylene and other products
with low melting point and high octane number under the action of a catalyst.
