Chinese scientists invented a new type of shape memory plastic sheet placed in 60 degrees Celsius hot water, in just a few seconds, the plastic
sheet shrinks into a "thousand paper crane"
.
This is a new type of shape memory plastic newly developed by Professor Xie Tao's research group at the School of Chemical Engineering and Biological Engineering of Zhejiang University, which can be "implanted" with complex shape memory many times and show various deformations
when exposed to heat.
The paper was published Jan.
9 in Science Advances
.
In the process of designing new shape memory materials, Xie Tao's research team added a commutable covalent bond to recompose the connection relationship
between molecules.
The researchers believe that this new material has broad practical value and application prospects, and researchers expect it to be used in high value-added applications
such as biomedical or flexible electronics as soon as possible.
