Recently, the light textile laboratory of Jiangsu Changzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau has established a method for rapid screening of volatile SVHCs in textiles, which has achieved the purpose of
convenient and efficient detection 。 SVHC (Substances of Very High Concern), that is, substances of high concern, derived from the EU REACH regulation, often exists in the production and manufacturing process of textiles used in dyes, protective agents, detergents and other raw materials, but SVHC volatile organic substances occupy a considerable proportion, such as phthalates, flame retardants, some dye intermediates (2,4-dinitrotoluene), etc.
, so it will cause harm to the environment or human health, serious carcinogenic , the danger of
teratogenic.
The new detection method pioneered by Changzhou Inspection and Quarantine Bureau, based on ion mobility spectroscopy (IMS), adopts the direct injection of textile samples, which can realize the rapid detection of 11 volatile SVHCs within 1~6 minutes, and the detection limit is lower than 100ppm, which fully meets the 1000ppm mass content limit requirements in the EU REACH regulation, and the alarm threshold can be determined according to the actual needs of users.
As a rapid screening technology
for these volatile substances of high concern.
This kind of detection method is light and fast, not only the instrument is small and portable, can be used for field testing, but also the analysis speed is fast, the sample pretreatment requirements are very low, greatly shortening the sample detection cycle, saving the detection cost, avoiding the environmental pollution of the chemical substances used in the testing process, and bringing great convenience
to the enterprise.
