Covestro adjusts polyurethane product layout in Asia Pacific

On September 22, Covestro announced that it will realign its portfolio of its customized polyurethanes division for the home appliance industry in Asia Pacific (excluding Japan), and the synthetic polyether polyols business will exit the home appliance market in China, India and Southeast Asia in response to changing customer needs
in the region.

Polyurethane is an important thermal insulation material
used in refrigerators and cold storage equipment.
Covestro currently offers customers in the home appliance industry two-component polyurethanes, i.
e.
combined polyether polyols and isocyanates
.
Recent market analysis shows that most home appliance customers in Asia Pacific now prefer to buy two materials
separately.
Covestro said that product adjustments to the home appliance industry in Asia Pacific will not affect its business
in Europe and North America.
According to Covestro, home appliances remain a key customer industry
for Covestro in the Asia Pacific region.
After portfolio optimization, Covestro will continue to sell isocyanates
to the appliance industry in China, India and Southeast Asia as a reliable supplier.

The relevant person in charge of Covestro said that globally, Covestro continues to develop polyurethane composite solutions and expand the customer base
of polyurethane.
For Asia Pacific, Covestro will continue to focus on customer needs in polyurethane composite applications such as automotive, wind turbine blades, pultrusion and reefer containers, providing customized solutions and polyurethane composite products
