SGL Group Portugal carbon fiber precursor production line officially launched
Recently, SGL Group held the inauguration ceremony of its precursor yarn production line at its FISIPE site in Lavradiu, near Lisbon, Portugal
.
The line was built
by retrofitting and upgrading part of SGL Group's existing production facilities in Lavladiu.

During this period, SGL Group invested a total of 30 million euros
in the production of raw yarn in Lavradio, including the spinning line.
Since September, the precursor yarn from Portugal has been supplied to Lake Moses in Washington State and to the Muiraf Oude site in Scotland for the production of the Group's new generation of high-end industrial SIGRAFIL carbon fibers
.

Andreas Wüllner, Chairman of SGL Group's Fibers & Composites business unit, said: "With the commissioning of the new precursor line at the Lavladio plant, we already have a complete value chain for high-quality carbon fiber materials and can further support
our customers in the development and application of innovative lightweight solutions.
”
