Recently, the team of Wu Zhengyan and Zhang Jia from the Institute of Intelligent Machinery, Hefei Institute of Physical Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences, developed a new type of functionalized biochar using solid waste - red mud and corn stover, and applied it to the treatment of acid printing and dyeing
wastewater.
A new type of biochar was prepared by the method of mixed pyrolysis of the two, and applied to the treatment
of acid printing and dyeing wastewater.
The biochar can adsorb the dyes in the printing and dyeing wastewater, because it is magnetic, it can be magnetically recovered after use, avoiding secondary pollution
to the environment.
In addition, the material also has a strong alkalineness, in the process of treating acidic printing and dyeing wastewater, it can not only neutralize the acidity of the wastewater, but also eliminate the alkalinity
of the material itself.
