Evonik expands production capacity for ^SEPURAN@ gas separation membranes

According to foreign media recently, Evonik will build a new hollow fiber spinning plant at its production site in Schulflin, Austria, for the production of SEPURAN^@ gas separation membranes, thus meeting the strong demand
in the nitrogen, hydrogen and natural gas application markets.
With an investment of tens of millions of euros, the new plant is scheduled to start operations
in the first quarter of 2023.

Evonik produces high-performance polyimide polymers, the building blocks for gas separation membranes, at the adjacent Lenzing site, and processes them into fine hollow filaments through several process steps at the Schulflin, which are at the heart of
^SEPURAN@membrane technology.
