    Altalto Immingham, a joint venture between Shell, International Consolidated Airlines Group (IAG) and Velocys, announced that the company's planned commercial plant from waste to aviation fuel will be built in 2021 and is expected to be put into operation in 2024, and the relevant planning application has been submitted

    Using technology from green fuel maker Velocys, the plant will process more than 500,000 tons of non-recyclable domestic and commercial waste annually at the new plant and convert it into fuel
    , the company said.
    The fuel has 70%
    less net greenhouse gas emissions than fossil fuels.
