    Propylene/1-butene copolymerization obtained invention patent

Recently, a preparation method of propylene/1-butene random copolymer resin developed by China Petroleum and Petrochemical Research Institute has been authorized
    by the national invention patent.
The invention breaks through the existing propylene/1-butene random copolymer preparation technology, the gas phase polymerization method is only suitable for the gas phase polypropylene device, and at the same time makes up for the cumbersome post-treatment process of polymerizing products with inert solvents, and is suitable for the production of copolymerization products
    by bulk polymerization polypropylene device.

Homopolymer polypropylene has relatively poor low-temperature impact strength, heat sealing temperature and transparency, which limits its application
    in packaging materials.
Random copolymerization of propylene and α-olefins can effectively improve the transparency of polypropylene and reduce the initial heat sealing temperature
    of the resin.
Copolymer products also have the advantages of high transparency and softness, which are comparable to some other transparent resins
    .

Petrochemical researchers used MgCl2-supported Ziegler-Natta catalyst to optimize the polymerization process conditions by bulk method and the screening and compounding of external electrons, so that the copolymerization catalyst activity of propylene and 1-butene was equivalent
    to that of propylene homopolymerization.
The resulting copolymer product has good particle morphology and suitable particle size distribution, low melting point, high transparency, low xylene solubles, high impact strength and modulus, which can be used in the production of
    BOPP film or CPP film.
