Six Japanese companies participated in theP2Cdemonstration project
2Six Japanese companies, including petrochemical producer Idemitsu Kosan Co.
, Ltd.
, will begin a demonstration project for the conversion of electricity into chemicals (P2C) in September, in response to the government's call
to promote the creation of a circular carbon society model.
The six companies include Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions, Toyo Engineering, Toshiba, CCS and All Nippon Airways
.
Based on the "Regional CO2 Resource Utilization Research Business for Electrolysis Using Artificial Photosynthesis Technology" proposed by the six companies, the P2C demonstration project
is scheduled to be completed by the end of March2025.
Under the plan, Toshiba Energy Systems and Solutions will build a carbon dioxide (CO2) electrolysis plant and demonstrate the plant
at its Hamakawasaki business unit in Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture.
