Shell intends to acquire a petrochemical project in India
Recently, Shell intends to invest in the acquisition of a 50% stake in a petrochemical project worth $9 billion (about 62.
3 billion yuan) of India's Nayala Oil Company, and the rest may be owned
by Rosneft.
Once completed, the acquisition will be another major deal in the oil sector during the year, which will help Shell further expand the downstream oil and gas market
in India.
Nayara Petroleum, India's largest state-owned refiner, plans to build a 1.
8 million mt/year all-steam ethylene cracker and related downstream equipment, as well as an aromatic hydrocarbon complex that is expected to produce 10.
75 million mt of petrochemicals
per annum.
