Sibur and Bashi Petroleum update PX supply contracts
Russian Bash Oil Company and Sibur Holdings announced today that they have signed a long-term formula-based pricing contract for the supply of paraxylene (PX).
The aromatics production plant of Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, a subsidiary of Bash Oil Company, will supply PX
to Sibur's Polief subsidiary on the Russian island of Blagoveshenschen.
According to the agreement, Bash Oil will supply no less than 120,000 tons of PX per year to Polief for the duration of the contract until
2036.
PX supply prices will be based on international benchmark prices
.
The supply can be increased
by mutual agreement.
Bash Oil is planning to upgrade its aromatics plant in Bashneft-Ufaneftekhim, which will increase its PX production to 260,000 tonnes
by 2018.
The plant currently has a designed PX capacity of 165,000 tons
