LANXESS and the Hellahook Group have jointly developed a new composite alloy material
    called Pocan AF4130.
The material can be applied to a housing material
containing a single battery management unit (BMU) and a dual battery detection unit (CMU).
This polybutylene terephthalate (PBT) and acrylonitrile-styrene-acrylate copolymer (ASA) alloy contains 30% glass fibers and a halogenated flame retardant
    .
"The special advantage of this material is that it has extremely low warpage and shrinkage, as well as high flame retardancy
    .
We believe that this material has great application prospects
in precision parts of vehicle batteries.
Marc Marbach, Sales Director of LANXESS's High Performance Materials (HPM) business unit
    .
The new material took only two and a half
years from initial conceptual design, extensive testing, and finally full-scale production.

BMU and CMU housings have a large flat surface, and the edge parts and internal geometry are complex
    .
Thanks to the innovative design, BMU and CMU housings can be injection molded into individual parts, resulting in cost
    savings.
When the housing is mounted on the PCB board, the connector pins must not be bent
    .
Therefore, dimensional tolerances between connector connectors and pin jacks must be small
    .

The UL94 fire test results of the American Safety Testing Laboratory Corporation showed that the material reached the optimal V-0 (0.
75 mm) rating, which fully meets the above requirements for the application of
lithium battery systems for small cars in Germany.
It is UL certified and meets the UL 94 5VA (1.
5 mm) flame retardant rating standard
    .
In the future, the material will be used in
injection molded parts of flame-retardant housing components.
