BASF will build a new battery recycling test facility in Germany

BASF announced on July 12 that it plans to build a new battery recycling test facility
at its cathode active materials production site in Schwarzheide, Germany.
The investment is expected to create approximately 35 new production jobs and is scheduled to open the plant
in early 2023.

The plant will support the development of recycling processes and the continuous optimization of technologies for the efficient recovery of lithium, nickel, cobalt and manganese
from end-of-life lithium-ion batteries, production waste from battery producers and battery material producers.
