BRIDGESTONE STRENGTHENS DIGITALIZATION
IN EUROPE PLANTS RECENTLY, BRIDGESTONE ANNOUNCED THAT IT WILL INVEST $41 MILLION OVER THE NEXT FOUR YEARS TO DIGITIZE PRODUCTION PROCESSES AT ITS 8 EUROPEAN PLANTS TO MEET CUSTOMER NEEDS
FASTER AND MORE FLEXIBLY.

The investment will include training Bridgestone's EMEA staff to operate digitally to help improve productivity

Bridgestone said the smart factory project will transform production processes at plants in France, Hungary, Italy, Poland and Spain, including semi-finished product manufacturing, energy supply and production monitoring
.
These retrofits will improve efficiency, reduce waste, streamline processes, and save energy
.
Digitalization will also help improve manufacturing efficiency by enabling "smart maintenance" of factory facilities, such as predicting potential machine failures, cutting production time for new tires in half
