China has made a major breakthrough in the harmless disposal of contaminated soil
China has made a major breakthrough in the harmless disposal of contaminated soilThe Department of Science and Technology of Hubei Province recently organized the appraisal of major scientific and technological achievements, and a new achievement of "cement kiln harmlessness and resource utilization collaborative disposal of polluted soil engineering technology and application" is considered to have completely independent intellectual property rights, and the overall technical level has reached the international lead
.
Pesticide pollution from arable land and urban industrial land in rural China is relatively common, and the disposal of contaminated soil has become a major problem
.
In recent years, Huaxin Cement Co.
, Ltd.
has explored a new harmless treatment method for contaminated soil: the contaminated "toxic soil" is sent into a fully enclosed cement kiln with a temperature of up to 1600 degrees Celsius, and after continuous strong alkaline high temperature calcination, the "toxic soil" is detoxified and turned into cement.
The disposal process and disposal equipment of the contaminated soil disposal project were all independently developed by Huaxin Cement and were completed and put into use
in February 2012 in Wuxue, Hubei Province.
The contaminated soil after grinding, drying and detoxification can be fed into cement kilns to replace some siliceous raw materials and produce cement clinker
that fully meets quality standards.
Since the project was put into operation, it has received and disposed of more than 200,000 tons
of contaminated soil.
An expert group composed of academicians and professors from the Chinese Academy of Environmental Sciences, China Academy of Building Materials Sciences, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Wuhan University of Technology, and Wuhan Institute of Technology made a comprehensive evaluation of the project, believing that the project proposed for the first time the "thermal mass equilibrium system technology" and the high-temperature point disposal technology scheme of organic contaminated soil, and independently developed an efficient pre-decomposition kiln device and drying grinder, and the overall technology reached the international lead
.
During the implementation of the project, the incineration removal rate of DDT and HCHs (pesticides) in the whole system was greater than 99.
9999%, and the exhaust emission indicators were far below the national limits
.
The expert committee recommended that the promotion and application
of this technology be accelerated.
