New Phthalate-Free Performance Polypropylene Catalysts Enhance Product Safety
Recently, Clariant announced the fifth generation of the PolyMax®600 series of non-phthalate olefin polymerization catalysts, expanding its product line to provide new solutions
to meet customers' more stringent toxicity management requirements.
Developed jointly by Clariant and Novolen® Technologies, a McDermott company, the new catalyst meets the growing consumer demand
for safer polypropylene product solutions.
With new state-of-the-art patented technology, the performance of PolyMax 600 catalysts has been further greatly improved
.
Compared to phthalate catalysts, the catalyst is at least 25%
more active.
This new technology not only increases plant productivity, but also enables superior polymer properties such as higher impact strength and therefore better durability
.
PolyMax 600 Series catalysts are a drop-in replacement for phthalate polyolefin catalysts and are well suited for a wide range of processes to meet the requirements
of a wide range of polypropylene applications, from food packaging to engineered automotive materials.
Given the rapid growth of the polypropylene market, the catalyst comes at an opportune time to help manufacturers meet growing market demand, improve product competitiveness and profitability, and adapt to stricter regulatory requirements
