    The commercialization of 5G is driving new infrastructure designs to accommodate the growth
    in the number of base stations.

    For base stations, Solvay's Ryton PPS resins simplify design and production
    by enabling partial integration between antenna substrates (PCBs) and oscillators, dipoles, filters, duplexers and other components.
    Metallized Ryton PPS resin can replace metals such as aluminum, ensuring reliable signal transmission with minimal signal power loss, while reducing infrastructure weight and facilitating base station installation

    The material has a very low coefficient of linear thermal expansion (CLTE) to minimize stress during metallization and optimize signal stability

    Ultra-low CLTE over a wide operating temperature range is also important
    for reliable RF transmission.

    Solvay's Xydar LCP is a reinforced resin with excellent flowability

    It can be injection molded to create thin-walled components and provide outstanding strength
    at extreme temperatures up to 300°C (572°F).
    Xydar LCP resin is inherently flame retardant, transparent to microwave signals, and resistant to almost all chemicals
    .
    Compared to PPS, Xydar LCP provides better dielectric properties
    for future high-frequency radio component designs.
