Eastman to acquire INACSA
Eastman has announced today that it has reached a definitive acquisition agreement
with Spanish cellulose yarn producer Industrias del Acetato de Celulosa S.
A.
(INACSA).
Upon receipt of the required regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, Eastman will acquire INACSA's entire yarn business and assets, including the plant and assets, formulations, intellectual property and customer contracts
in La Batllòria, Spain.
The acquisition is expected to close
in the third quarter of 2019.
INACSA's yarn business and its assets will contribute to the continued growth of EastmanNaiaTM cellulose yarn in the apparel market and will be an important supply base
for Eastman's global fiber business.
Brad Lich, Eastman's executive vice president and chief commercial officer, said, "This reinforcement acquisition is in line with the company's growth strategy and aligned
with the company's goals.
By acquiring INACSA, Eastman not only gains the brand and resources of a well-known premium yarn producer, but its European facilities will enhance our strength and support our global textile supply chain
.
