The demonstration and promotion project of harmless treatment of oilfield drilling waste undertaken by the Xinjiang Academy of Environmental Protection Science and Technology has recently passed the expert acceptance
organized by the Science and Technology Department of Xinjiang Autonomous Region.
On the basis of reviewing the relevant materials, the expert group listened to the report on the implementation of the project, and after discussion and evaluation, concluded that the project has high scientific and technological content, significant social and economic benefits, and has a good demonstration and driving role, and agreed that the project passed the acceptance

According to the distribution, geological structure and drilling mud properties of different oil and gas fields in Xinjiang, combined with the distribution characteristics of environmentally sensitive points in the well area of Xinjiang oilfield and local environmental protection requirements, the project is selected to carry out project demonstration and promotion by CNPC Tarim Oilfield Company and
Sinopec Northwest Oilfield Branch belonging to the "Tarim Basin Oilfield Block".
The project identified 20 representative wells for "harmless treatment" unit follow-up surveys

The results show that the technology has strong practicability, can adapt to the treatment of different mud systems, the treated drilling wastewater can meet the secondary and secondary standards of the "Comprehensive Sewage Discharge Standard" (GB8978-1996), and the solid waste mud cake leaching liquid is lower than the national "Hazardous Waste Identification-Leaching Toxicity Standard" (GB5085.
3-2007), which can effectively reduce the risk of
environmental pollution 。 From the perspective of reduction and resource utilization, the amount of mud cake produced after drilling mud treatment is reduced by about 60%, so there is no need to build rock chip ponds and mud storage sites, which effectively reduces the environmental pollution of drilling mud and saves land

Moreover, most of the mud cake produced can be used for paving in the well field area or paving the surrounding roads
.
The drilling wastewater that meets the treatment standards can be used as water for the well site and the device itself, realizing the clean production
of the well site.
