ECHA launched a public consultation on the harmonized classification and labelling of the three substances
The European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) has launched a 45-day public consultation on the harmonized classification and labelling (CLH) of the pesticides biphenylhydrazine ester and flusulfonium and the industrial chemical Direct Blue FC 57087
, with a deadline of 10 May 2013.
The CLH proposal on biphenylhydrazine ester was submitted by the Dutch authorities, which is mainly used as an acaricide in crops and ornamental plants to kill plant mites, and the proposal proposes to set the uniform classification and labeling of biphenylhydrazine ester as skin sensitization, exposure toxicity to specific target organs, harm to water bodies and M-factor hazards to the water environment
.
The CLH proposal for flusulfon, a herbicide used in field agriculture, was submitted by France, which proposes to be included in the list of
carcinogens and environmentally hazardous substances.
The trade name Direct Blue FC 57087 is commonly used for dyeing inks, lotions, and textiles, and is currently classified under the CLH Act as acute toxic and toxic to exposure to specific target organs
.
This time, Germany recommended that the substance be removed from the above classification, on the grounds that the methanol content of the substance did not reach the limit that required uniform classification
.
