Repsol will invest EUR 105 million in the construction of the polyethylene plant

Repsol said it would invest 105 million euros in the Puertolano industrial park to build the first plant in the Iberian Peninsula capable of producing ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE), a material considered a "super polymer"
due to its special properties.

The plant will be commissioned by the end of 2024 with an annual capacity of 15,000 metric tons
.
For the construction of the plant, Repsol chose the technology of
DSM, a well-known UHMWPE producer in the Netherlands.
