Chemours launched a special research on titanium dioxide recycling of waste plastics
Chemours has announced that it will work with academic, industry and government experts on a three-year recycling research project to develop an efficient, cost-effective and more sustainable process technology
for recovering titanium dioxide and polymers from plastic end-use products.
Chemours said the initiative, called Remove 2 Reclaim, was launched in 2020 to drive environmental benefits
by eliminating waste and reducing energy use in manufacturing.
Currently, commercial-scale recycling technologies are not yet effective at separating polymers and additives, limiting the potential applications and quality of
recycled plastic products.
The goal of the initiative is to develop better detection and separation technologies to enable the separation and recycling of titanium dioxide
.
