Bayer completes the acquisition of Monsanto On June 7, Bayer announced the completion of the acquisition of Monsanto
, the largest transaction
in the company's history.

Hugh Grant, Chairman and CEO of Monsanto, said, "Today's successful completion of the acquisition will help growers improve production efficiency, achieve sustainability and ultimately benefit
our planet and consumers.
I look forward to
the combined company driving the development of modern agriculture as a whole.
The
merger of Monsanto and Bayer will begin
after Bayer completes the divestiture of its business from BASF.
The integration is expected to begin
in about two months.
Upon the start of the integration, Liam Condon, member of the Bayer Management Board, will assume the role of head of
the combined CropScience division.
Until the integration begins, Monsanto will operate
independently of Bayer.
