A novel method for the preparation of ixtomycin A

A new preparation method of edacin A and its homologues invented by the Chengdu Institute of Biology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences has recently obtained an invention patent
from the State Intellectual Property Office.

After long-term research, researchers of the institute have obtained a mutant strain of Bacillus subtilis, which has the characteristics
of high production of hibitococcin A and its homologues, and almost no biosurfactin.
Through further research, the researchers obtained a preparation method for high-yield didacillin A and its homologues, which solved the bottleneck problem of
its application.

Equatococcin A and its homologues have the advantages of broad-spectrum disease resistance and are not easy to develop drug resistance, but due to its backward fermentation production technology, low yield, high cost and difficult control, industrial production and commercial application
are restricted.
