Huntsman has announced the official opening of its new pigment plant in Augusta
, Georgia.
With an investment of more than $172 million, the project is the company's first new pigment plant in North America in nearly 35 years, producing iron yellow, iron red and iron black pigments with a capacity of 30,000 tons
.
The new plant will supply products mainly to customers
in North America.
The highly automated production and packaging process of the new plant represents the future manufacturing process direction of iron oxide pigments, and the plant is also in line with the company's sustainable development direction, introducing large quantities of scrap iron from Augusta's other plants into the production chain and integrating it with the rest of the company's business to improve resource utilization, while optimizing the production process also reduces the drying process used on other iron oxide lines, increasing efficiency
