Clariant recently announced that its Heating Material (HGM) for the Catofinö process has demonstrated excellent performance
at the propane dehydrogenation plant of Ningbo Haiyue New Materials Co.
, Ltd.
The plant uses Clariant's Catofin?-based CB&I Catofin?catalytic dehydrogenation process with an annual capacity of 600,000 tons of propylene
.
The Catofinö process is an efficient and reliable technology
for producing propylene from propane.
The process is operated at optimal reactor pressure and temperature to maximize propane conversion, high propylene yield, and correspondingly low investment and operating costs
.
These performance advantages are further enhanced
by the adoption of HGM in the Catofin?Sex process.
HGM is an innovative metal oxide material designed
to significantly increase the selectivity and profitability of Catofin® devices.
The HGM material is loaded into the catalyst bed together with the catalyst and undergoes oxidation and reduction processes in cyclic operation, generating heat that drives the dehydrogenation reaction
.
This not only increases yield, reduces energy consumption, but also reduces emissions
.
HGM received the Special Contribution Award
at ICIS Innovation Conference 2014 for its important and leapfrog contribution to improving raw material utilization.
