Jotun presents the new fireproof coating Jotachar JF750
On March 20, Jotun, the world's leading paint and paint supplier, Jotun, announced the launch of a new generation of fireproof coating Jotachar JF750
in the Chinese market.
Jotachar JF750 is an epoxy intumescent fire retardant coating that meets the requirements of jet flame protection without the need for grid, mainly for the protection of steel structures, partitions and tanks, and the application areas include most offshore projects as well as many onshore projects
.
The new coating helps owners, construction and construction workers save time, reduce costs and reduce installation risks
compared to coating systems that require grid reinforcement.
Andy Czainski, Jotun's Global Sales Director for Fire Retardant Coatings, said: "Jotachar JF750 uses an advanced fiber matrix in the material, which combines a robust and temperature-stable carbon insulation layer with the elimination of additional mesh reinforcement, which can greatly reduce application complexity and speed up the construction schedule, thereby helping to save time and costs and improve construction quality
.
"
It is reported that Jotachar JF750 has undergone extensive and independent testing according to a number of key industry standards, such as the "hydrocarbon pool fire curve" of ISO834/BS476 Part 21, respectively, according to the section steel and partition to prove its protection ability against hydrocarbon pool fires; In the ISO 22899 test, Jotachar JF750 demonstrated excellent protection against 2 hours of jet flame combustion without additional mesh reinforcement; The Jotachar JF750 also passed the 4 bar overpressure test
without any additional mesh reinforcement.
In addition, the Jotachar JF750 is fully compliant with the 6th edition of the NORSOK M-501 standard
.
In the NORSOK M-501 post-weathering fire tests, Jotachar JF750 was proven to be uncompromising
after rigorous ISO 20340 cyclic durability tests.
According to John Warner, Jotun's intumescent coatings product manager, another major technological breakthrough for Jotachar JF750 is the avoidance of boric acid, which is defined as a "substance of high concern" by the European Union's REACH agency and is used as a flame retardant
in many products.
Jotachar JF750 avoids boric acid and aims to improve the environmental friendliness and safety
of the product.
