SABIC restructured its supply chain with Saudi Aramco
Recently, SABIC and Saudi Aramco jointly announced plans to transfer the marketing and sales functions of some of Saudi Aramco's petrochemical and polymer products to SABIC, and the offtake and resale functions of some SABIC products to Saudi Aramco Trading Corporation (ATC).
SABIC and ATC will focus on petrochemicals and fuel products
, respectively.
The restructuring is expected to be implemented
in phases in 2021.
Global marketing and sales of certain petrochemical and polymer products from Saudi Aramco and its joint ventures and subsidiaries will be transferred to SABIC, initially involving PRefChem, SADARA and S-Oil of South Korea
.
Following this round of petrochemical integration, SABIC will be responsible for the marketing
of existing products and product portfolio extensions.
At the same time, SABIC will transfer to ATC the global offtake, resale and procurement functions
for a range of fuel products (benzene, methyl tert-butyl ether, gasoline additives and polyether-based polyurethane cracking feedstock).
Saudi Aramco's paraxylene products will continue to be sold
by ATC.
The commercial services for the maritime transportation of bulk liquid products will be integrated into ATC (including chemicals and raw materials), and the transportation of all solid products and the delivery of customer products will be integrated into SABIC
.
