ContiTech Vibration Control Systems, the world's leading manufacturer of automotive suspension systems, and ContiTech (China) Rubber & Plastics Technology Co.
, Ltd.
, a subsidiary of ContiTech, have set up their first R&D center
in China.
Over the years, ContiTech Vibration Control Systems has adhered to the quality concept of "excellent German engineering quality", and has maintained long-term close cooperation with many customers including Geely, Great Wall, GM, Shanghai Volkswagen and Qoros on the basis of adhering to the commitment to high standards of quality, and has produced innovative products
based on suspension and vibration control technology for customers.
In 2010, ContiTech Vibration Control Systems was awarded a contract
for the supply of the central platform for the new Qoros automotive brand.
In this regard, Heinz-Gerhard Wente, CEO of ContiTech AG, said: "This contract is the driving force behind
the company's service improvement.
Driven by this, the company plans to further enhance its local R&D capabilities in the important Asian automotive market, penetrate into customer factories, and provide professional and localized engineering services
at customer sites.
"
The new R&D center in Changshu, Jiangsu Province, with a total investment of about 8 million euros and a construction period of 8 months, will help meet Contitech's development needs in the field of chassis support systems and engine mounts, so as to serve customers in China more quickly, accurately and effectively, and greatly improve the company's service capabilities
for Asian markets such as Korea, Japan and India.
" 。 Currently, the staff of the new R&D center is working on the production of engine mounts, shock absorbers, bushings and shock absorber mount prototypes, and plans to establish new production standards to enhance the value of
ContiTech Vibration Control Systems' products in the Chinese automotive industry.
In the future, when the R&D center is put into operation, 30 Chinese engineers will be engaged in R&D
.
