Ascend expands adiponitrile production capacity Ascend recently reached an agreement in Alabama, USA, to expand adiponitrile (ADN) production capacity

at its plant in Decatur, Alabama.
The plant is one of
only four plants in the world to mass-produce ADN.
The $175 million project will expand ADN's production capacity, reducing environmental damage to the plant and creating new jobs
.
Ascend's Board of Directors has approved the project, subject to a definitive agreement
.
Construction of the project will begin in the second quarter of 2020 and end
in late 2021.
