    WACKER acquires a cysteine fermentation plant
    in Spain, December 20, 2016 – WACKER BIOSOLUTIONS, a division of WACKER AG, has acquired a fermentation line with a fermentation
    capacity of 800 cubic meters from Antibióticos de León SLU (ADL).
    In the future, the company will use a fermentation process to produce cysteine in León, Spain, for food and pharmaceutical use
    .
    WACKER then plans to invest around €30 million to take over the production line and modernize existing and add additional production facilities in the coming years, with the handover scheduled to be completed
    by the end of 2016.
