On February 14, Shanghai Municipal Bureau of Ecology and Environment announced the environmental impact report of INVISTA Nylon Chemical (China) Co.

According to the information on the EIA document, INVISTA plans to build 5 production lines in the existing polymer plant to achieve an additional production capacity of 242,500 tons/year of nylon 66 polymer (excluding 7,500 tons/year of foreign products)

Since 2012, INVISTA has successively built the first phase of hexamethylene diamine plant, the second phase of polymer plant and the third phase of adiponitrile plant in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park

It is reported that after the completion of the expansion of the project, the annual demand for hexamethylene diamine of INVISTA polymer plant is 233,000 tons/year, while the current capacity of its existing hexamethylene diamine plant is 215,000 tons/year

According to the document, the expansion of the hexamethylenediamine plant is planned to start in 2022 and end before the polymer 2.
