The Argentine Mining Entrepreneurs Association released a report this week saying it expects investment in Argentina's mining industry to reach $29 billion in 2019, employing about 80,000 people
.
According to the association, the mining industry is experiencing continued growth and has become the sixth most important area
in terms of exports.
"In the chamber, day after day, we create synergies with the states, promote better public policies, professionalize the relationship between public and private entities and create a platform for dialogue to generate a common vision of sustainable industry," said Marcelo Álvarez, First Vice President of the Association, during his presentation to the local media
.
At the event, Marcelo also said that the Argentine mining industry is working to comply with a program called "Towards Sustainable Mining", which provides companies with concrete options
on how to operate in a transparent manner and comply with international environmental and sustainability standards.
