.
The first batch of 10 kilograms of ABS resin containing recycled styrene was produced in the Ineos Styrolution Laboratory in Cologne, Germany, and then processed by Neue Materialien Bayreuth, the company's research and development partner
Petra Inghelbrecht, head of the Ineos styrene collar project, said that if the processing experiment proves that the performance of the ABS resin produced by recycled styrene does not differ from that of the original material, then this will be an important step for the company to use recycled raw materials to produce ABS on a commercial scale.
Ineos Styrolene has previously stated that compared with ABS resin produced from virgin materials, greenhouse gas emissions during the production of ABS resin from recycled styrene can be reduced by 30%
