India's joint cabinet has approved a policy framework
aimed at boosting oil and gas production through enhanced and improved oil recovery and the development of unconventional resources.
This policy framework includes the partial waiver of fiscal incentives for levies on incremental production or mining royalties

The goal is to "build a supportive ecosystem through collaboration between academic and research institutions, industry and academia, and to support and encourage exploration and production contractors to adopt methods
aimed at enhanced oil and gas recovery," a government statement said.
This policy is valid for 10 years
