The western area of the Guangzhou Development Zone is a residential and comprehensive supporting area, but it suffers from only one main road of Development Avenue, resulting in a large number of trucks passing through the central living area, and the rail transit pressure of Development Avenue is huge
.
To this end, the development zone has been hoping to open up the western partition road and build a new main road
in and out of the western region for the western district.
Yesterday, the environmental impact assessment of the renovation project of the West District Partition Wall Road (West Exit), which had been in the works for a long time, was accepted by the environmental protection department and made public before
approval online.
According to the EIA announcement, the project is expected to start construction in August this year with a construction period of two years, which will ease the traffic pressure of the current development boulevard, further improve the road network construction in the western part of the western district, and open up the connection
with the Huangpu Lingang business district.
The construction period of the project is planned to be 24 months, and it is planned to start construction in August 2016 and be completed
by August 2018.
The EIA also reminds that since individual road sections (Xiji Road and Zhicheng Avenue) are upgrades and renovations of existing roads, lanes will be closed to varying degrees during the construction period, which will have a great impact on traffic operation and residents' travel, and traffic relief
must be completed before the project starts.
The demolition content of the project includes the demolition of old factories and sheds along the line, which does not involve the demolition of residents, mainly concentrated on both sides
of the partition wall road.
In addition, the EIA report also disclosed the planning of urban rail transit in the former Luogang District
.
According to Guangzhou's overall planning plan for the construction of rail transit system, combined with the strategic requirements and planning principles of the original Luogang District transportation planning, a total of 7 lines including 5, 6, 9 and 21, 1 north-south line, 2 north-south line and suburban train line are planned in and around the former Luogang District
