New statistics show that Greece added 287.
3 MW of grid-connected wind power capacity in the first half of 2020, bringing its cumulative installed capacity to 3,884 MW
.
According to data released by the Hellenic Wind Energy Association (ELETAEN), the country's wind turbine capacity has increased by 8% since the end of December 2019, with 110 machines
commissioned between January and June.
Panagiotis Ladakakos, president of ELETAEN, commented that this growth has been achieved in a "volatile and complex regulatory environment" that has been further suppressed
by the COVID-19 pandemic.
"But this success should not obscure the problem: there is still a lot of work to be done
to meet the country's energy and climate goals," he added.

Of the 3,884 MW fleet, 299.
7 MW were installed on the island and 3,584 MW on mainland Greece

Central Greece has 1,484.
9 MW, accounting for 38%
of the total.
The Peloponnese and East Macedonia-Thrace have an installed capacity of 619.

In terms of ownership, the largest owner of installed capacity is household utility Terna Energy with 585.
