Mauritania's Ministry of Employment and Information and Communications said it will deploy a 1,600-kilometer fiber-optic cable
this month.
According to reports, the optical fiber cable deployed this month is one of the WARCIP support projects of the West African regional communication infrastructure planning, aiming to strengthen the communication infrastructure
of West African countries.
Mohamed Ould Ahmed Abderrahmane, spokesman for the Mauritanian Ministry of Employment and Information and Communication, revealed that the new fiber optic cable infrastructure will connect more cities and regions in the country, enhance interconnection within and between regions, and promote the efficiency of
regional Internet services.
