On February 16, the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released information that according to the statistics of motor vehicle factory certificates, in January 2016, China's new energy vehicle production was 16,100 units, a year-on-year increase of 144%.
Among them, the production of pure electric passenger cars was 7,952 units, a year-on-year increase of 3 times, and the production of plug-in hybrid passenger vehicles was 4,887 units, a year-on-year increase of 115%; Production of pure electric commercial vehicles increased by 80% y/y to 2,422 units, and production of plug-in hybrid commercial vehicles decreased by 4%
y/y to 834 units.
The first six batches of domestically produced new energy vehicles included in the Catalogue of New Energy Vehicle Models Exempt from Vehicle Purchase Tax produced 15,500 units, accounting for 97%
of January production.
