Audi announced plans to sell 800,000 all-electric vehicles and plug-in hybrids
in 2025.
In 2025, Audi plans to sell 800,000 all-electric and hybrid vehicles
By then, the automaker said it will launch at least 20 electrified models and invest about 40 billion euros in strategic areas
such as electric vehicles, autonomous driving and digitalization.
To free up the necessary funds for investment, Audi said it would stop production of some existing cars, including the double-door models
of the A1 and A3 series.
After launching two models in 2019 and 2020, Audi also plans to unveil the production concept
of the Audi e-tron prototype.
The company claims to be the first premium car
to be mass-produced in a carbon-neutral manner.
The car's lithium-ion battery will work with a fast charger and is expected to provide a range
of more than 400 kilometers.
Rupert Stadler, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Audi, said: "Our goal is to revolutionize mobility
.
When it comes to electric vehicles, we want to be the best among high-end automakers
.
The model is perfectly suited for everyday use and allows customers to enjoy high quality and driving pleasure
