Idemitsu and JERA signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today, stipulating that they will jointly consider establishing a hydrogen supply chain in the Isewan region, Globalhydrogenreview said on June 16.
Due to the need for decarbonization, hydrogen (which burns without producing carbon dioxide) is expected to be used in large quantities in power plants and industry as a replacement for next-generation fossil fuels
The Isewan area is an area where many industries are concentrated, and it is likely to become a large-scale receiving and supply base in the future
Idemitsu and JERA will use their accumulated technology, knowledge and assets to contribute to the establishment of a stable and economical hydrogen supply chain as part of efforts to achieve carbon neutrality
