Iberdrola, through its subsidiary Iberdola Mexico, has signed the country's first green financing loan
agreement with a company in Latin America.

The $400 million loan has a five-year term, renewable for two years, and is signed with 10 relationship banks, BBVA as administrative correspondent bank and BBVA Bancomer as global coordinator and green correspondent bank
    .
The conditions that Iberdrola receives are very beneficial and these funds will finance the financing of social responsibility projects based on the sustainability of the loan
    .
The group will allocate $400 million to refinance
    three wind farms in Mexico.

The company went on to be the first electricity company in the world to sign a green loan last year and became the first to issue a green category certified by Vigeo Eiris, an independent agency with the Green Loan Principles, ensuring that resources are used
    correctly.
With this transaction, Iberdrola reaffirms its commitment to Mexico, where it leads the way in which it expects to reach more than 11,000 megawatts of installed capacity at the end of the period, when Mexico will consume more than 20% of its electricity
, according to the group's strategic outlook for 2018-2022.

Iberdrola was the largest issuer of company-level green coupons in 2016 and 2017
    .
The company also offered all public offerings
    in this format in 2018.
Back in January, Iberdrola signed the world's largest credit deal with sustainability criteria, totalling 5.
3 billion euros, a gap linked to
the reduction of the Group's emissions.
This commitment to sustainable financing is part of Iberdrola's commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) on the UN 2030 Agenda, which has been incorporated into the strategy
    .
Iberdrola focuses on Goal 7 (affordable and clean energy) and Goal 13 (climate action).
