    On May 2, Huawei Marine said that a maritime investigation of the PEACE (Pakistan & East Africa Interconnected Europe) submarine cable project is underway

    The PEACE submarine cable system will connect Pakistan, Djibouti, Kenya, Egypt and other countries on the Red Sea with a total length of 8,800 km

    The project was signed in November 2017 and is expected to be delivered
    in the fourth quarter of 2019.

    Huawei Marine is working with its long-term partner EGS to conduct seabed hydrological and geophysical surveys along the planned cable route

    EGS's specialist survey vessel RV Ridley Thomas has arrived in the area to begin offshore exploration operations
    .

    Zhang Hongxiang, Director of Marine Projects at Huawei, said: "As we continue to provide efficient and high-quality network solutions to our customers, the implementation of the PEACE submarine cable project has become another important milestone
    to test our project delivery capabilities.
    We will deploy 200G WDM technology in the PEACE cable system to support the rapid economic development of the East African region and facilitate interconnection
    between Asia, Africa and Europe.

    Chris Welsh, CEO of EGS Investigation Group, said: "We are very honored to participate in the PEACE submarine cable project and to work with
