Horizontal section 4286 meters Fuling gas field set a number of domestic shale gas drilling records

The reporter learned from Sinopec Jianghan Oilfield Fuling Shale Gas Company on the 20th that the Jiaojiao 18-S12HF well in the Fuling shale gas field was successfully drilled recently, with a drilling depth of 7,161 meters, a horizontal section length of 4,286 meters, and a horizontal section "one drilling" advance of 4,225 meters, setting two records for the longest horizontal section and the longest "one-pass drilling" advance of horizontal sections of shale gas wells in China, and setting two records
for the deepest and longest horizontal section construction of Sinopec shale gas wells.

The Fuling shale gas field is the first commercially developed large-scale shale gas field
in China.
According to reports, the Jiaopan 18-S12HF well is a development adjustment well deployed in the Jiaoshiba block of the gas field, which was drilled
on August 26.
The formation structure of the block where the well is located is complex, and there are many "adjacent wells" in the surrounding area, which faces greater risks
of well control and collision prevention.

Under the guidance of the oilfield professional department, Fuling Shale Gas Company benchmarked the work goal of "four mentions and five modernizations" of petroleum engineering, strengthened the integration of engineering geology, integrated professional teams from all aspects to work centrally at the construction site, closely tracked geological and engineering parameters, formulated geological guidance and trajectory optimization measures, strengthened friction calculation and analysis, did a good job in geological engineering risk warning, timely discussed and formulated risk control measures, and ensured the accurate and efficient regulation of trajectories and the smooth progress
of engineering construction.

In order to complete the construction of the ultra-long horizontal section of the Jiao Page 18-S12HF well with high quality and efficiency, Jianghan Petroleum Engineering Drilling Company II, which undertook the drilling of the well, was equipped with a 750-ton top drive, equipped with high-pressure mud pumps, high-efficiency centrifuges, rotating blowout preventers and other equipment
.
In the drilling process, the horizontal section preferentially selected rotary guide, high-efficiency PDC drill bits, low-speed and high-torque screws and other tools, and at the same time selected reasonable drilling pressure, displacement, speed and other drilling parameters, creating a new "one-pass drilling" record, the high-quality reservoir penetration rate reached 100%, and the average daily advance of the horizontal section reached 316 meters

It is reported that through integrated and collaborative research, the construction has overcome many technical problems such as large friction torque, difficult trajectory control, and "one-trip drilling" in the long horizontal section of shale gas, and verified the adaptability of process technologies such as enhanced drilling parameters, wellbore structure optimization, friction reduction and drag reduction, trajectory control, wellbore cleaning, ultra-long horizontal section drilling and completion, and high-efficiency oil-based drilling fluid in the long horizontal section, and realized the safe and high-quality drilling
of the longest horizontal section of shale gas wells in China.
