Recently, Hitachi Metal announced that the company uses monofibrotic fluororesin as an insulator to develop micro-coaxial cables
for medical devices with low electrostatic capacitance.
The product will be produced by Hitachi Cable Fine Co.
, Ltd.
and Hitachi Cable (Suzhou) Co.
, Ltd.
, and mass production is expected to begin in
2016.
The micro-coaxial cable developed by Hitachi Metal for medical devices has approximately 14% lower outer diameter than the thinnest low-capacitance coaxial cable product
.
In addition, compared to conventional products with high capacitance coaxial cables, the attenuation of 10 MHz is reduced by about 10%.
