Henkel's Schwarzkopf brand will relaunch its Schauma wash and care line in February 2022 with a redesigned bottle that will present consumers with clearer, more personal packaging, containing at least 50% recycled plastic for a lighter weight bottle body

Henkel said one of the key changes to Schauma's packaging will be a "timeless, neutral and contemporary" redesign

Featuring dark blue to create the Schauma brand name, the design with foam around the letters demonstrates the purpose and values of the brand

In addition, Henkel says the new packaging is minimalistic to more clearly communicate the product's benefits for different hair types
.
The company says the back of the pack will convey the "emotional" appeal directly to consumers, which will help them find the most suitable product

The cap and bottle are designed in the same color

According to Henkel, this leaves room for the graphic on the bottle, while also enhancing the clarity of the product information

Henkel added that it has incorporated its sustainability goals into the redesign of the bottle, which has all reduced weight

The opaque bottle of the Schauma product launched reportedly contains 50% recycled plastic, while the clear bottle is composed of at least 98% recycled plastic, and neither contains a label

The caps of the Schauma bottles are also made from 25 percent recycled plastic, according to the company

In addition, Schauma bottles are packaged in a recyclable paper folding box

Earlier this year, Henkel announced that its Pril hand sanitizer would be available in refillable packaging, including 100% recycled PET pumps and Mondi's recyclable single-material PE bags
