On October 27, the Shanghai Enterprise Environmental Information Disclosure Platform announced
the public opinion on the environmental impact report of the polyamide plant expansion project of BASF Chemical Co.
, Ltd.
The basic information of the construction project is as follows:
Construction project name: BASF Chemical Co.
, Ltd.
polyamide plant capacity expansion project
Project construction site: No.
8, Chuhua Road, Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone, Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone, Shanghai Chemical Industry Zone, Shanghai Chemical Industry Park
Project construction content: PA6 plant expansion, nylon 6 new capacity of 15,000 tons / year, nylon 66 new capacity of 5,000 tons / year, after expansion, the total capacity of nylon 6 reaches 75,000 tons / year, nylon 66 total capacity reaches 45,000 tons / year, PA6 plant total capacity reaches 120,000 tons / year
.
BASF's Ultramid® (polyamide 6 and 66) plant was inaugurated in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park on May 6, 2015, with an annual capacity of 100,000 metric tons, which will further strengthen BASF's local production and supply network to better serve the growing Asia-Pacific market
.
BASF is one of the world's leading manufacturers of nylon 6 and nylon 66, with rich experience in related process research and development and production, BASF Chemical has built a polyamide plant (PA6 plant area) in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park plant to produce
nylon 6 and nylon 66 products.
According to reports, the production process of nylon 6 and nylon 66 is mainly divided into polymerization, extraction, granulation, drying and other processes, and BASF chemical analysis confirms that the granulation unit is the bottleneck of the production load of the device, specifically, the molten polymer is transported to the circular open-hole die of the granulation unit through the gear pump, and the die is now 160 holes, limiting the flow
of the molten matter.
BASF Chemicals plans to replace the die of the pelletizing unit with 200 holes and increase the theoretical flux of the melt by 25 percent, thereby expanding the PA6 plant area
